All about Piercing
Ouch – but these things do seem to be the fashion
and have been for many many thousands of years, with different cultures
choosing to pierce every conceivable bit of their bodies.
Each person according to their own though – but there are certain very
important general rules to follow if you must be pierced: -
- Only have piercing done by a reputable person
with lots of experience and who uses prepacked sterilized instruments,
otherwise you can get all sorts of nasty infections including HIV and
hepatitis
- Make sure whatever you are having ‘put in’ in
the way of rings, studs or other decorations – have been also been
sterilized
- Watch out for local infections which usually
occur within the first few days after being pierced when it can get red,
sore and a bit pussy. Most of these will settle down with antiseptic
cream from you local chemist.
- If this infection doesn’t clear up within a few days or gets worse,
check out with a doctor as you may need antibiotics, or have your
decorative ‘object’ removed
